Tips & tricks for gardening
Get rid of weeds
Manual Pulling
This is a simple and chemical-free method to eliminate weeds. Make sure you remove the roots to prevent them from growing back. It’s easiest when the soil is damp, so try to do it after a rainfall or water the area first.
Mulching
Mulching prevents weed growth by blocking sunlight. Organic mulches like straw or wood chips can also improve soil quality as they decompose. For a more permanent solution, you might use landscape fabric, although it won’t improve your soil.
Use a Weed Torch
These devices burn weeds at high temperatures, causing them to wilt and die. They should be used with caution, especially in dry areas where they could start a fire.
Plant Densely
If you plant desirable plants close together, they can crowd out potential weeds and prevent their growth. Some gardeners use ground cover plants for this purpose.
